Immediately upon paying the amount indicated on the statement of offence in full, you are deemed to have entered a
guilty plea, and a judgment is deemed to have been rendered on receipt of this payment.
In the event you pay a statement of offence by mistake, since a judgment is deemed to have been rendered, you would
have no other option than to refer the matter to the Superior Court.

b. Changing a not guilty plea
|
|
You can change your plea at any time before the hearing. However, note that additional fees set out in the Tariff

c. Suspended driver's license
|
|
Note that making an online payment will not result in the suspension of your driver's license being immediately lifted.
If your driver's license is suspended for unpaid statements of offence at the time you make the online payment, you should
expect an administrative delay while the Municipal Court sends the notice of payment to the Société de lassurance automobile
du Québec (SAAQ). Contact the SAAQ to make sure your driver's license is valid before you drive. SAAQ: 514 873-7620 or

d. Updating your driving record - demerit points
|
|
If the Highway Safety Code stipulates demerit points for the offence entered on the statement of offence, the SAAQ will be
informed immediately, and the number of demerit points indicated in the Code will be entered in your driving record. Demerit
points are indicated on the statement of offence for information purposes only.
